What we collect
The paper’s name, city and ZIP, adult recipient emails, and household details you provide: kids’ first names and dates of birth, pets, care times, hobbies, teams, birthdays, religion and holiday preferences. We also read schedule files and emails you choose to forward, plus family-calendar events when you connect an iCal link.
What we don’t do
We don’t buy data from people-finders or data brokers, scrape social media, request access to your main inbox, use household content to train models, run ads, or build a marketing profile of a child.
Children
An adult parent or legal guardian runs the paper. Kids have no accounts, no logins, and never receive emails. You must be 18 or older and the parent or legal guardian of the children listed.
The family circle and gifts
Grandparents receive an invitation only after parent review and must opt in themselves. Only parent-approved stories and conversation starters may be shared; daily schedules, schools, and exact birthdays are excluded. Gift recipients set up their own household. Sharing a question or invitation does not expose household details.
Service providers
Hosting, database, email, and writing providers process information to create and deliver your paper. We minimize the writer’s inputs, excluding dates of birth and recipient emails. Provider retention settings and contractual protections are reviewed before live launch.
Retention and deletion
Raw forwarded mail and attachments are removed after 30 days. Extracted facts expire after their date. Sent editions are retained for your household’s archive. On cancellation or a deletion request, household data and files are deleted within 30 days. Reply ‘delete my data’ or contact us.
Your draft
Signup drafts are saved only in your browser for up to seven days. Clear the draft using the signup page, especially on a shared device.
